It’s not every day you see Spider-Man posing for selfies in the middle of a busy Glasgow street — but for fans of Tom Holland, that’s exactly what happened this week.

Filming for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has officially begun, and for the first time in the franchise’s history, the set wasn’t sealed off from the public. Instead, Marvel opened the doors, letting fans watch, cheer, and even meet the man behind the mask.

A Different Kind of Day One

Holland, now stepping into the Spider-Man suit for the fourth time, admitted this start felt special.
“It feels funny putting the suit on. It feels different this time, somehow. And it’s the first time we’ve had fans on set for day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them,” he said in a behind-the-scenes video.

In the clip, he’s seen greeting young fans, crouching down for pictures, and sharing laughs between takes — a far cry from the secrecy-heavy shoot of No Way Home.

First Stunt Already Making Waves

The BTS footage also teased a pulse-pounding sequence — Spider-Man balancing on a moving tank, swinging open its hatch mid-motion. Fans online have already begun dissecting the shot, speculating on the scene’s role in the story.

Holland also hinted at returning characters while playfully acknowledging the weight of expectations:
“We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’m just gonna do my best, hopefully get it right. No pressure.”

Cast, Crew & Release Date

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige, the film sees Zendaya return as MJ. New faces Sadie Sink and Liza Colon-Zayas join in undisclosed roles.
